About Yidi

The maker behind the work.

Yidi

Hi, I'm Yidi! I'm 12 years old and I love making things with my hands. I crochet, draw, do origami, 3D print, and build stuff out of anything I can find — including duct tape.

I grew up speaking both Chinese and English, and I love sharing what I know. This summer, I'm running my first bilingual handwork camp — come make something with me!

Accomplishments

Sakura Medal — 2025 & 2026
The Sakura Medal is a prestigious reading award given to students who read and vote on a curated list of outstanding books. Yidi earned it two years in a row — including the orange bookmark she designed herself.
Locker Design Champion — Upper Elementary
Yidi's individual locker won the locker decoration competition for the entire upper elementary school. Her design features handmade dark blue curtains — and a secret guardian inside. Want to see it?
